Grant of the Week: Fellowship from the Historic New Orleans Collection

The Historic New Orleans Collection invites entries for the Dianne Woest Fellowship in the Arts and Humanities. The fellowship carries a stipend of $4,000/month, for a minimum of one month and a maximum of three months, to support research in the history and culture of Louisiana and the Gulf South. Woest fellows will be based at the Williams Research Center, home to some 35,000 library items, more than two miles of documents and manuscripts, and approximately 350,000 photographs, prints, drawings, paintings, and other artifacts. Eligible applicants include doctoral candidates, academic and museum professionals, and independent scholars. Deadline: August 1, 2007; recipients will begin their research on or after January 1, 2008. See the fellowship page for more information and an application form.
