Three short years ago AHA Today joined the blogosphere to share “the latest happenings in the broad discipline of history” as well as to “serve as a clearinghouse for interesting, and perhaps useful information about the profession.” Since that time AHA staff members have produced over 850 blog posts, which have been viewed by more than 200,000 visitors.
AHA Today has evolved over these few short years, adding new sections and covering a larger variety of topics. A few months after launching the blog, a Friday post called “Grant of the Week” was added. It brings grants, fellowships, and prizes to the blog from the AHA’s Grant and Fellowships Database. About a year into its life another section, “What We’re Reading,” was added. This weekly feature showcases links to articles and sites around the web that may be of interest to historians. Then, just last year, the “Jobs and Careers in History” section came to the blog, adding interviews with historians who work in the public history field.
Thank you for your interest in AHA Today. We look forward to bringing you many more posts in the years to come.
