Grant of the Week: Marine Corps History Dissertation Fellowships

The Marine Corps History Division seeks applications for its 2011 Marine Corps master’s theses and dissertation fellowships on topics related to some aspect of Marine Corps history. The fellowships are funded by the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation to help encourage contributions to the field of Marine Corps history and, more generally, military and naval history. The division awards two master’s theses fellowships yearly, the Bernard M. Rosoff Memorial Master’s Thesis Fellowship and the Lieutenant Colonel Lily H. Gridley Memorial Master’s Thesis Fellowship, which each include a $3,500 stipend. The General Lemuel C. Shepherd, Jr. Memorial Dissertation Fellowship, which includes a $10,000 stipend, is offered to students researching their doctorate dissertation. Applicants must be actively enrolled in accredited programs and by September 2011, have completed all requirements for a master’s or PhD degree, except for the thesis or dissertation.
