Workshop for Teaching American History Grant Applicants

By Elisabeth Grant

Those interested in applying for a Department of Education Teaching American History Grant can attend a “technical assistance workshop” designed to help applicants through the grant application process. The workshop will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Capitol, in Washington D.C. Staff will explain the “purpose of the TAH program, selection criteria, application content, submission procedures, and reporting requirements.” For more information, including directions to the workshop location, see the TAH website.

  1. I cannot attend this workshop but am hoping that you can point me to some appropriate/acceptable “nationally validated tests” that measure teachers’ increased understanding of American history (GPRA performance indicator 2). Any guidance in this area would be most appreciated!
