"Let the Sunshine In" with the April Issue of Perspectives
By Elisabeth Grant
In this month’s issue of Perspectives, AHA President Barbara Weinstein explains what George W. Bush, Angela Merkel, and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva all have in common in her article “Let the Sunshine In: Government Records and National Insecurities.” Meanwhile, Lee White from the National Coalition for History reports on how three major bills recently passed will affect historians, archivists, and journalists in his article “Dismantling an Imperial Presidency.”
Graduate students will find a number of articles of interest in this month’s issue, beginning with David Darlington’s article, “History Graduate Students Hold Conference at University of Maryland.” And followed by “What is the Meaning of the Master’s Degree?” a roundtable comprised of the following articles:
- Function of the Master’s Degree in Teaching History
by Helen Grady - The MA and a Career in Historic Preservation
by Daniel Vivian - Public History Master’s at the University of South Carolina
by Thomas Brown
Read all of this, as well as a public history success story, an article on writing style in the history profession, a much more.
