The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) recently announced the 2013 ACLS Public Fellows, a program which places recent humanities PhDs in staff positions throughout the government and non-profit sector. These appointments not only provide fellows career development opportunities, but also demonstrate the applicability of humanities PhDs in a wide variety of career settings. Among the list of fellows are a number of historians and friends of the AHA, including: Anna J. Armentrout, Benjamin Young, and Frances Abbott.
Anna Armentrout, PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, was appointed as an Associate Director for Special Projects at the International Student Exchange Programs.
